WOW!!!

So I ran across this awesome wedding entrance on facebook today and I couldn’t wait to post it!! I couldn’t stop laughing and thinking how awesome it would have been to photograph this wedding!
Now…I’m not saying that you have to go this far, but we love the way this bride thought outside the box! Everyone that we’ve photographed knows that we just like to have fun and this wedding looked like everyone was having a complete blast!! Okay… so I know that I already have like a thousand exclamation marks already, but this video rocked. Watch it and see for yourself. I know that it is a little long, but totally worth watching!

And remember…if you decide to do something like this at your wedding then we would love to be your photographer!

Amber and Danny wedding

Amber and Danny tied the knot about four weeks, and we had a fabulous time shooting their wedding. We knew it’d be a fun wedding from the time we shot their engagements (view them HERE) a while back. They are both so funny and so fun-loving. And believe me when I say that they know how to throw a ROCKING party :)!

Amber and Danny, thank y’all so much for letting us be a part of y’alls special day. We had a great time and enjoy your pics!

A few details:

It is always an emotional time for the bride to see herself in her dress for the first time. I love this moment.

Amber and Danny chose to do a “First Look” and see each other and take pictures before the ceremony (which y’all know that we LOVE that). Here’s them seeing each other for the first time

One thing that we loved about their engagement shoot was the cute little yellow umbrella that Amber brought for pics, so we were psyched when she told us that she bought each of her bridemaids one.

And last but not least, gotta love a bride who smiles even with cake all over her face :)

Katie’s bridal pictures

We LOOOOOOVED taking Katie’s bridal pictures a few weeks back. Yes, that’s “loved” all in caps and with extra “o’s” in the word. That’s just how awesome her bridal shoot was. Katie wasn’t afraid to think outside the box and have her bridal pictures taken in places that we’ve never shot and in places that aren’t your “typical” bridal shoot locations. And because of that, we think her pictures ROCK. Her and her finance Zac got married today on a beautiful farm complete with horses and breathtaking rolling hills (we’ll share the wedding pics soon). Therefore, she wanted her bridal pictures to reflect her “country” wedding. We started out the shoot at my grandmother’s house out in Luna because if you want country, then Luna is the place to go.

Afterwards, we headed out to Calhoun to the wedding location for pics. The place was amazing! Plus, we got to photograph a gorgeous bride with horses, so it was definitely a win-win!

Jon and Denise

A while back, we shot Jon and Denise’s engagement session. Then a few days after that, we met up with Denise to shoot her bridal’s. This past weekend we had the opportunity of shooting Jon and Denise’s wedding, but realized we’ve been so busy that we haven’t even had a chance to blog their engagements yet.
The day we were scheduled to shoot the engagements we knew that it was about to rain. We called them and they were flexible enough to meet earlier. The rain held off just long enough for us to finish the shoot!
Enjoy!

Brittney and Steven

I’ve know Brittney for many many many years, and it was so much fun taking her engagement pictures now that’s she’s getting married (which makes me feel REALLY old by the way because she should still only be like 13 years old in my mind….). Brittney and Steven are one of those rare couples that have been together since they were 15 years old, and are still completely in love even though they are no longer teenagers. I’m so happy for them, and I can’t wait for their wedding in October!

Brittney and Steven, we had such a blast with y’all in Summerfield. And thank y’all for being such troopers even though it was 150 degrees outside :)!

Summerfield was such an awesome place to take pictures. There were old barns and bails of hay everywhere you looked, so we had no shortage of cool locations to take pictures at.
brittneysteven-109

We even found some wildflowers in a ditch while driving around. So naturally, we politely asked Brittney’s mom to stop and backup so we could take pics :).
brittneysteven-096

So sweet!
brittneysteven-115

Then we found some hay bails that we just HAD to use!

This church was built in the 1800s and it is beautiful! We’re taking Brittney’s bridal pictures inside of it and we can’t wait!

It usually takes a while for the groom-to-be to loosen up and get into the photo shoots, but once they do, this is what we get:

And this :)

But we can be “serious” too:
brittneysteven-116

brittneysteven-113

This tree was our last stop for the photoshoot, and it was so special because it was the tree that Steven proposed to Brittney under. Unfortunately, there was no airflow under tree and it was incredibly hot and humid, so we couldn’t spend too much time under there because our faces were melting off. But we like the pics that we did get in the short time we had:

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July :)!

Bridgit and Wade’s wedding

We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Bridgit and Wade’s wedding a few weeks ago, and we couldn’t wait to share the fabulous photos! This wedding was one of those weddings that we could have shown up with a cell phone camera and still have taken gorgeous photos because everything was just sooooooo perfect. The location, the light, and most importantly the couple all rocked!!! This wedding was also our first “destination” wedding because it was in Natchez, Mississippi; and Bridgit and her family were just so accommodating to us! The wedding took place on the beautiful Dunleith Plantation Home. There isn’t too much else that we can say about this awesome couple and their amazing wedding, so just sit back and enjoy the photos :).

And the shoes:

I cannot stress enough how much we L.O.V.E for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. The intimate moment when they see each other for the first time never ceases to amaze me. Plus, it allows the day to flow better because all the formal family photos can be taken before the ceremony; and once the ceremony is over, its party time at the reception :)! But, as always, we completely respect all of our brides’ decisions and will be happy whether they see each other before or during the ceremony for the first time. But Bridgit and Wade did choose a “first look,” and we ADORE their photos from the first look:

We couldn’t ask for a better location to take bride and groom pics than this oak grove (or is it a cypress grove? oh well…regardless of what tree it is, it’s breathtaking!).

And their reception ROCKED! Everyone had a great time dancing well into the night. We took a lot of photos using the flash, but we actually like these photos without using the flash much more. The quality may not be as crystal clear since we had to slow the shutter speed and up the ISO so much, but I just love the mood they give.

Ava and Ian

While we were in Baton Rouge a few weeks back we had a shoot with two of the cutest kids! :) Ava and Ian were just too adorable together. We met at their house and they pretty much just played while we snapped away. They had a couple of outfit changes that were just too cute.

I love the drool in this one. His mom kept wiping it off but it was too cute.:

Grover, Stephanie, and precious Ava

So its a funny story how we came to know Grover and his beautiful family. About 5 years ago, Miranda and I traveled down to south Louisiana to visit our old youth pastors and to go to the American Idol season 3 summer tour in New Orleans (and yes, I know we’re dorks for that). Well, while visiting Pastor Mo and Mrs. Shontel at their house, we met Grover and some other people from Pastor Mo’s church and stayed up late playing cards and just having a great time. We exchanged emails and have actually kept up with each other over the years even though we only met that one time. You can almost say that Grover, or “Bubba”, is my real-life pen pal :). We’ve complained and rejoiced over email about everything from LSU and Saints football, to politics, work, and school. Now that Bubba is married and has an adorable daughter, and seeing as how we’ve only met him that one time and we’ve never met Stephanie or their daughter, it was about time that we made the trip back down to south LA. It was so awesome hanging out with him and his family again. His wife Stephanie is just fabulous (seriously, I felt like I’ve been friends with her for years because she was just so much fun to be around), and his daughter Ava is just as sweet and precious as she could be. We had such a great time with them that we’re trying to talk them into moving up to Monroe, LA with us :). So Bubba and Stephanie, don’t y’all want to move up here so we can take pics of y’all anytime :)?

Now on to the photos of the awesome family:

The shoot was right during Ava’s usual nap time, so she ended falling asleep while we were driving to a different location. So instead of waking her up and having her not be happy with us, we just let her sleep and took pics of the happy husband and wife!
