Brittany and Andy’s engagement photos

We took Brittany and Andy’s engagement pics last week, and we had a fabulous time with them. They started off the shoot talking about how nervous they were and how “unphotogenic” they are. This couple not photogenic?…..yeah right….
brittany-and-andy-131

A lot of our clients have claimed to be unphotogenic before, but we’ve proved all of them wrong, and now we can prove Brittany and Andy wrong as well because check out these photos of this beautiful and awesome couple. I don’t think they are capable of taking “bad” pictures.

Katie and Zac’s wedding

Katie and Zac’s wedding was the fifth wedding in a row that we shot during June and July. Now I know that’s not a lot for wedding photographers who shoot weddings full-time; but for us two part-timers who have other full-time jobs, it WAS a lot. But I honestly can not think of a better wedding and a better couple to end our marathon of weddings with. Zac and Katie were AMAZING to work with, and their wedding was so incredibly fun and beautiful. There are so many things that made this couple and their wedding awesome; but instead of listing them one-by-one, I’ll let their pictures do the talking. So sit back and enjoy the slew of pictures you’re about to be bombarded with :) .

Example #1 of their awesomeness: Their wedding took place on a gorgeous horse pasture and the reception was in the horse stable. They even used Mason jars and burlap for their flowers and decorations.

Example #2 of their awesomeness: They wrote sweet letters to each other to be read during the ceremony. It added such a personal touch to the wedding.

Zac getting ready with his groomsmen:

Example #3 of their awesomeness: They chose to see each other before the ceremony so that we could get plenty photos of them and their bridal party. I LOVE it when couples decide to do a “first look.” The pictures are always so real and emotional.

Example #4 of their awesomeness: There was a red barn to take pics with.

Example #5 of their awesomeness: We told Zac to “dip” Katie like we sometimes do, but this is what we got instead :)

Example #6 of their awesomeness: The bridesmaids (AND bride) wore boots with their dresses.
stephens-145

Future bridesmaids, THIS is how you should treat the bride on her special day :)
stephens-158

Example #7 of their awesomeness: We typically tell grooms “hands in pockets” for a more natural pose, but these groomsmen took it one step further and put their hands in their neighbors’ pockets. Hilarious group of guys. Seriously.
stephens-177

stephens-614

Example #8 of their awesomeness: They now hold the record for the largest group jumping picture that we’ve ever shot.
stephens-167

Example #9 of their awesomeness: The wedding ceremony was at the PERFECT time and PERFECT location to get gorgeous photos. The ceremony was also so personalized to them as a couple. From the letters to each other that were read to the groom praying for their marriage, it was all just so perfect.

Denise and Jon’s wedding

I know, I know…we’re supposed to be updating this blog at least once a week (preferably twice a week), and lately we’ve only updated it about once every week and a half. But that’s good news for our clients because that means we’re busy working on y’alls photos :). So just hang tight with us and we’ll be updating more often when wedding season dies down.

Now on to Denise and Jon’s pictures…this wonderful couple tied the knot on a hot, but beautiful, July 4th day. Denise was all smiles all day, and they both made the day so enjoyable for us and all the guests. We had such a great time with them on their special day!

Denise and Jon, thank y’all so much for letting us be a part of y’alls wedding and we hope y’all enjoy your pics. Thanks again :)! Y’all rock!!! (and I know it seems like we say that to all our clients, but our clients really truly rock!)

Denise and Jon decided to see each other before the wedding; and of course, we were thrilled about that. I love seeing the bride and groom together for the first time on their wedding day. It is always a sweet and intimate moment, and we get such special pictures like this one:

Samantha and Roderick

We had the GREATEST time shooting Samantha and Roderick’s wedding! It was at Kiroli Park on a beautiful day! There was no chance of rain and I don’t believe that there was a cloud in the sky. It was an extremely hot day, but that didn’t damper any spirits! The first time we met Roderick and Samantha they were so much fun together, always laughing and having a great time. There wedding day was no exception! Surrounded by friends and family, they were smiling and laughing and just enjoying each other’s company. You can tell that they are so much in love!

We started out the day at the Wingate Hotel where the bride and groom were getting ready:

WOW!!!

So I ran across this awesome wedding entrance on facebook today and I couldn’t wait to post it!! I couldn’t stop laughing and thinking how awesome it would have been to photograph this wedding!
Now…I’m not saying that you have to go this far, but we love the way this bride thought outside the box! Everyone that we’ve photographed knows that we just like to have fun and this wedding looked like everyone was having a complete blast!! Okay… so I know that I already have like a thousand exclamation marks already, but this video rocked. Watch it and see for yourself. I know that it is a little long, but totally worth watching!

And remember…if you decide to do something like this at your wedding then we would love to be your photographer!

Amber and Danny wedding

Amber and Danny tied the knot about four weeks, and we had a fabulous time shooting their wedding. We knew it’d be a fun wedding from the time we shot their engagements (view them HERE) a while back. They are both so funny and so fun-loving. And believe me when I say that they know how to throw a ROCKING party :)!

Amber and Danny, thank y’all so much for letting us be a part of y’alls special day. We had a great time and enjoy your pics!

A few details:

Katie’s bridal pictures

We LOOOOOOVED taking Katie’s bridal pictures a few weeks back. Yes, that’s “loved” all in caps and with extra “o’s” in the word. That’s just how awesome her bridal shoot was. Katie wasn’t afraid to think outside the box and have her bridal pictures taken in places that we’ve never shot and in places that aren’t your “typical” bridal shoot locations. And because of that, we think her pictures ROCK. Her and her finance Zac got married today on a beautiful farm complete with horses and breathtaking rolling hills (we’ll share the wedding pics soon). Therefore, she wanted her bridal pictures to reflect her “country” wedding. We started out the shoot at my grandmother’s house out in Luna because if you want country, then Luna is the place to go.

Afterwards, we headed out to Calhoun to the wedding location for pics. The place was amazing! Plus, we got to photograph a gorgeous bride with horses, so it was definitely a win-win!

Jon and Denise

A while back, we shot Jon and Denise’s engagement session. Then a few days after that, we met up with Denise to shoot her bridal’s. This past weekend we had the opportunity of shooting Jon and Denise’s wedding, but realized we’ve been so busy that we haven’t even had a chance to blog their engagements yet.
The day we were scheduled to shoot the engagements we knew that it was about to rain. We called them and they were flexible enough to meet earlier. The rain held off just long enough for us to finish the shoot!
Enjoy!

Brittney and Steven

I’ve know Brittney for many many many years, and it was so much fun taking her engagement pictures now that’s she’s getting married (which makes me feel REALLY old by the way because she should still only be like 13 years old in my mind….). Brittney and Steven are one of those rare couples that have been together since they were 15 years old, and are still completely in love even though they are no longer teenagers. I’m so happy for them, and I can’t wait for their wedding in October!

Brittney and Steven, we had such a blast with y’all in Summerfield. And thank y’all for being such troopers even though it was 150 degrees outside :)!

Summerfield was such an awesome place to take pictures. There were old barns and bails of hay everywhere you looked, so we had no shortage of cool locations to take pictures at.
brittneysteven-109

We even found some wildflowers in a ditch while driving around. So naturally, we politely asked Brittney’s mom to stop and backup so we could take pics :).
brittneysteven-096

So sweet!
brittneysteven-115

Then we found some hay bails that we just HAD to use!
brittneysteven-082

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This church was built in the 1800s and it is beautiful! We’re taking Brittney’s bridal pictures inside of it and we can’t wait!
brittneysteven-114

It usually takes a while for the groom-to-be to loosen up and get into the photo shoots, but once they do, this is what we get:
brittneysteven-111

And this :)
brittneysteven-110

But we can be “serious” too:
brittneysteven-116

brittneysteven-113

This tree was our last stop for the photoshoot, and it was so special because it was the tree that Steven proposed to Brittney under. Unfortunately, there was no airflow under tree and it was incredibly hot and humid, so we couldn’t spend too much time under there because our faces were melting off. But we like the pics that we did get in the short time we had:

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Fourth of July :)!
