Emery and Trey’s wedding pictures

In one word…Emery and Trey’s wedding was INCREDIBLE!!! Seriously, I knew it was going to be a unique and special wedding upon hearing Emery’s wedding plans and helping her with wedding crafts, but she really outdid herself with all the attention to detail she put in. Plus, we were just happy to be a part of their wedding day because they’ve been our close friends for many years and I was so excited to see Emery happily married off to Trey. It was a perfect day, and everyone genuinely had a GREAT time at their wedding.

Like I said, the details were amazing:

The best bouquet EVER…Emery made this using many old brooches from her grandmother:

I loved the flowers as well:

And instead of a groom’s cake, they had various groom’s pies (they both have a mutual affinity for pie):

And heeelllloooooo awesomeness!!! LOVE this!!! Tammy and Betsy from Soups, Salad and Sweets did an amazing job on the cake!

I could post many many more detail shots from their wedding, but on to the people pics because Emery and Trey are pretty awesome too ;) . Emery getting ready…I love the retro feel to this pic

Emery and Trey chose to do a “first look” before the wedding, and I’m soooooo glad they did because it gave us plenty of time for pictures with all the fun props! I always love seeing the anticipation on a groom’s face before he sees his bride:

And I equally love seeing the bride’s reaction on seeing her groom for the first time. So much happiness :) :

Kristin and Rick engagements

I’ve known and been friends with Kristin since way back in high school. As a matter of fact, Kristin and I used to ride together to school and she was even with me when I got my very first speeding ticket ever (how exciting, right?). I was so excited when she contacted me about doing their pictures for several reasons. One being that I get to see and catch up with an old friend, and two being that we would be doing their pictures in Dallas, TX since that is where Kristin and Rick live. So a couple of weeks ago, Miranda and I took a weekend trip to Dallas to take their engagements and to get a little shopping done :) .

We had an awesome time with Kristin and Rick, and I absolutely loved loved loved shooting in Dallas!!! It was so good to shoot somewhere different and way more exciting than ol’ Monroe, LA. I have to give a huge shout out to Rick right now though…we met Sunday morning around 7:00am and he had just gotten off work after working 24 hours. He was bright eyed, excited, and such a sport about taking hours worth of pics after working 24 straight hours. Kristin, he’s a keeper ;) .

Brittany’s maternity pictures

You may remember Brittany and Andy from there wedding HERE and from their engagements HERE. We were super excited when Andy contacted us to see if we would be interested in taking maternity pictures for them. We had such a fun time with them during their wedding that we jumped at the chance to hang out with them again and snap some pics of such a fun couple :) . They had a great location picked out for us, and it was so good seeing them again in this new exciting stage in their life.

Congrats Andy and Brittany on your beautiful baby boy Madden Andrew! Hope you enjoy your maternity pictures :) !

The light was PERFECT for the shoot!

Emery’s bridal pics

Back in August, Emery, Miranda, Brandi, and I went to Las Vegas for a sort of “bachelorette” girls trip and bridal shoot. Emery mentioned a couple months ago that she would love her bridal pics to be taken in the Las Vegas lights and such, and we of course jumped on that opportunity!! We’re always looking for new and exciting places to take pictures…and you don’t get much more fun and exciting than VEGAS BABY!!! We went all out and stayed at the Venetian, ate an $80+ meal at the Top of the World restaurant, and went to the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil show…it was AMAZING! We had a great trip and was even able to snag a couple of awesome pics of Emery for her bridal pics ;).

These first few were taken around the Venetian:

After getting run off the hotel grounds for not having “written permission” to shoot there (even though we were paying to stay there as guests!), we went to downtown Fremont Street for some night pics. These were my favorite

When we got back to the strip, we snapped a couple more of her with the Vegas strip…but only a couple because none of us had eaten in about 20 hours it felt like and we were ready for supper :) !!

Love this last one of Em because it is so “her”

Amber and Brent’s engagement pics

I met up with Amber and Brent a couple of weeks ago for their engagement shoot, and I was a little nervous at first because I was shooting by myself without Miranda. We typically don’t shoot without each other, but since she had open house at her school I told her I could do it by myself, but I missed my trusty ol’ friend :) . Nevertheless, the shoot went great and I had a good time with Amber and Brent. I know Amber from working at Glenwood, and I’ve been looking forward to shooting their engagement and their wedding next month.

Brent and Amber perfectly complement each other, and they are always smiling and laughing together. This was one of those shoots that when I was culling their images down to edit, I couldn’t help but to smile while looking through their pics. We had a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy their engagements pics :) !

Such a good looking couple!

For this last picture, you have to know their engagement story to fully appreciate it. Brent had a great elaborate plan on how he was going to propose to Amber. However, on the day that he was going to propose, he became terribly sick with the flu and all the plans had to be changed. Amber went over to his place to help nurse him back to health; and while doing his laundry by the washer and dryer, she turned around to find Brent on his knee with a beautiful engagement ring. Even though he couldn’t propose where and how he originally planed to, he had to have her as his finance that day regardless of the messed up plans. I think its such a sweet story, so we couldn’t resist ending the engagement shoot at a laundry mat.

Lots of blog posts all in one…part #2

So here is part #2 of lots of blog posts, and this should have us caught up for a week or two, then the fall wedding season begins in full swing. Bring it :) !

First off, Ana and Chris’s wedding. Ana and Chris got married in July at Christian Life Church and the reception was held at Aubrey Hall…and if you remember from our last post, we love shooting at Aubrey Hall :) . We’ve been excited about shooting their wedding ever since we had such a fun time doing their engagements last year, and the wedding day didn’t disappoint! We had a GREAT time and they are such a fabulous and fun couple! The wedding and reception was beautiful, and even though the weather wasn’t perfect and rained some, they didn’t let it damper their happiness and excitement for starting their life together.

Ana was a radiant bride!

Ana and Chris also chose to see each other before the wedding to allot for more picture time and to help the day flow seamlessly.

Next up, we had an adorable family photo shoot for one of my old highschool friends Cheryl, her husband Josh, and their precious little boy Braeden. We met up at Black Bayou in Monroe, and I’m not gonna lie…it was about 115 degrees with 100% humidity! It was HOT! But they were such troopers (I know I complained waaaay more than them about the heat) and we had a great time with them despite the heat and my whining about the heat ;) .

Aren’t they the cutest family :) !

Lots of blog posts all in one…part 1

So I guess it goes without saying that we have been very very busy this summer and have gotten embarrassingly behind on blogging. So far behind, in fact, that we are just going to post several weddings and shoots in one post and then post the rest in a separate blog post later this week. Better late than never right ;) ? Even though it has been a busy summer for us, we have had some great weddings and awesome clients as usual!

We’ll start the Rachel and Michael who tied the knot the first weekend in June in a super sweet and sentimental wedding. They were married in the same church as Rachel’s mom and dad, and most of the decorations and flowers came from close family and friends. It added such a personal and special touch to the wedding. Congrats y’all and thanks for letting us be a part of y’alls day :).

Next up…Jennifer and Drew who also wedded in June. The ceremony was at the Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, and the reception was held at the always awesome venue Aubrey Hall, which was exquisitely decorated! We had such a great time doing their engagements pics and was excited to be a part of their wedding day as well. Thanks Jennifer and Drew and congrats :) !!!!

And lastly for this blog post, Katie and Ryan who got married the first of July. Katie and Ryan were so much fun to be around, and we had a blast at their wedding at Jackson Street Church of Christ. Their smiles and happiness was just contagious! Ryan is a very talented videographer and we’ve worked with him at past weddings, so we were honored to be chosen to be their wedding photographers. Thanks so much you guys and we hope all is well with y’all down in N’awlings ;) .

James and Jessica’s Country Wedding

We had the opportunity of shooting James and Jessica’s wedding at Hatchel Hills Farms out in Luna a couple weekends back! You may remember these two from their engagement session a couple of months of ago. We had an awesome time with the two of them! They are both so much fun to work with and so much in love! It was a beautiful day outside and their wedding was perfect!

Alecia and Chris’s engagement pics

I’ve really been looking forward to taking Alecia and Chris’s pictures for a while. I went to high school with Alecia; and honestly, sometimes I’m nervous about taking pictures of people I know. But Alecia and Chris were both so laid back and fun that my nerves quickly dissolved and we had a great time with them. We shot at Black Bayou in Monroe, LA and it was such a great location for their shoot.

Such a good looking couple :)

Clay and Keshia’s Engagements

We met up with Keshia and Clay a few weeks back for their engagement session! We had a lot of fun with the two of them and you can tell that they are completely in love. Their story begins all the way back to kindergarten where the two of them first met. Keshia told us of how she went home on that first day and said to her mom that she was going to marry him. And now…nearly 20 years later…SHE IS! Seriously, how awesome is that!!! I barely knew how to tie my shoes at 5 years old, and here’s Keshia choosing her future husband! It was a long road for them to get to where they are today, but I’m sure it was worth it in the end :) .

See how cute they are together!
